Rules and Regulationsposted :by RiskY_TiGeR or drew in Dota forum | |
| Those who fail to abide the rules will be punished in the form of warnings and if severe enough, a ban. And if you create more accounts to muck around - an IP ban. If you still haven't had enough, drew will ban your country, then eventually, the world. Some rules may not be listed here but a moderator has the right to give you a warning based on any of your actions found inappropriate. A member will get banned when he/she has obtained up to 10 warnings. SPAMMING DO NOT SPAM. This is the golden rule. Topics and posts containing nonsense, lame one-liners, off-topic posts, smiley spams will be deleted, or the entire thread locked at the moderator's discretion. If you feel the need to get off topic, please go to Etcetera. Warnings : one (1) to three (3) based on amount of spam NEW THREADS Before creating a new thread, check for stickied threads or use the search tool we have down at the bottom of the page to look for what you want. Threads that are strikingly similar or have the exact topic as other threads (especially in sticky threads) will be locked. If the search tool fails or the last post in the topic you find is more than a year old, you may go ahead and create a new topic, since the information in that topic is likely outdated. Remember to create new threads in the correct forums. POST PUMPING If a post is suspected to have no other purpose than to increase the post count of the poster (this is also a form of spam, see rule above), then any moderator may, at their discretion, delete the post. Your post count does not measure your 'rank' here, don't act like you are superior over other members just because you have a high post count. Remember that we are all equal. Warnings : one (1) to three (3) based on severity MULTIPLE POSTS Do not double post (or more) intentionally. If you want to add things to what you have posted, use the edit button to edit your previous post. Warnings : zero (0) to one (1) Accidents happen, we don't warn every double post (especially duplicate posts which are often the cause of a bug) do it enough and you will get a warning. QUOTING Don't quote the entire post that you are responding to. It's extremely annoying to see another persons's 20 line post quoted in entirety with only the comment, "I agree," or something similar added by the quoter at the end. When using the quote button to reply to posts, delete the text that is not relevant to the comments that you are going to make. You can edit the text in the "Original Post to Quote" box. Warnings : one (1) if it is a particularly useless post RESPECT Please respect all of the members of this site and their opinions. If anyone made a mistake in his or her posts or strategies, please tell them in a polite manner. Also, this site was not made for people to brag about their playing skills. We're all here to help each other out. We don't care how good you are, or how many Beyond Godlike streaks you had. If you're just here to boast, then you might want to rethink of posting in this site. Drew made this site was made for us DotA-philes to have good discussions as equals, noob or pro, it does not matter. FLAMING Posts containing insulting, cursing, threatening, harassing or anything that might offend other members is STRICTLY prohibited, and will be edited or deleted by any moderators without warning or consent. Members caught flaming in forums or via PM's will get a warning, or more severe punishment if necessary. We will be VERY strict in regards with flaming. Remember it’s your butt on the line! Warnings : one (1) to ten (10) TROLLING Trolls are members who intentionally spam and start flame wars. These creatures are manipulative and will cause you to do stupid things while they laugh at you. [Wikipedia: A troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.] Therefore, do not post in troll topics or you may end up in more trouble than the troll. Golden Rule #2: DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS! Just let them die on their own and report to moderators, do not be their audience! Warnings : Instant Ban (troll) and up to three (3) warnings (troll feeder) ADVERTISING Advertising or soliciting other members to buy, or sell any products or services is allowed as long as they are limited to your signatures. Creating a thread to advertise without permission will result in the thread getting locked. Warnings : one (1) to ten (10) dependent on product IMAGES Only post images when absolutely necessary, and when they are directly relevant to the topic discussion. If the image you are posting is large in size (either pixel size, file size, or both), then please post a link to the picture instead of posting the picture itself. Posting objectionable or indecent materials such as pornography will result in a ban. Think of the children! Warnings : one (1) to ten (10) based on content As a general rule, page stretchers are 1, porn is 10, general NSFW is 3. SIGNATURES Signatures are limited to 450 x 200 pixels and 275KB, and may contain 3 lines of text or 3 userbars. If you signature is too big, it will be changed by a moderator and get warned. Warnings : one (1) REPORTING If you suspect a member has broken on of the rules, do not hesitate to use the report button or PM a moderator to tell them about the issue. You may PM Greater Bash, Ghost or any of these guys (except andrew). MISCELLANEOUS THINK BEFORE YOU POST. Save yourself trouble and ourselves time . If you find yourself questioning the nature of what you’re going to post, then it’s probably not safe to post it. DO NOT GET OFFENDED EASILY. If a person pisses you off, there are 3 possibilities: he broke the rules (report to a mod), he's a troll (report to a mod), or, you are just too sensitive. It's the freaking internet; 10 year old girls can sound like female dogs in this place. Relax, and try to enjoy your time. Again, if there really is a problem, do not hesitate to report to the mods. | |
